“Gun Detective” Part of Anti-Violence Strategy
Three Michigan counties will soon enjoy the services of a dedicated “gun detective” who will work full time on cases involving convicted felons with guns. “We’re going to concentrate on drug dealers who have weapons in their homes,” says Berrien County Sheriff Paul Bailey.

Louisiana Program Reduces Crime by One-Third
“Trigger Time,” an anti-gun initiative in Lake Charles, Louisiana, reduced gun crimes by about 30 percent between 2002 and 2003, according to Police Chief Don Dixon. The program operates under the umbrella of Project Safe Neighborhoods.
